I’m tickled to announce my eerie tale “In the Company of Women” is part of the new Leather Tomes and Spiderwebs anthology from Knotted Road Press!
I’m delighted to announce the launch of a new magazine with the entirely accurate tagline of “So Criminal, It’s Good.”
Mystery, Crime, and Mayhem features stories by me, Jason A. Adams, and a bunch of spectacular writers!
I’m having so much fun writing these stories and reading everyone else’s that it probably should be illegal.
Spiral Publishing continues to offer a free weekly short story, and up this week is my Atlanta-based fantasy story “Little Five.” This story picks up after “Terminalia” with another peek into my own special multiverse.
After a busy several weeks of staying home, writing, publishing, and planning, I’m delighted to announce Spiral Publishing’s Thursday Escapes! They’ll be sharing a different story from me or Jason A. Adams on their site free each week.
Just our way to try to help folks stay entertained while we’re all staying safe.
This year started out fast and busy around here, and I have all kinds of fun things to share!
The first goes back to last year, when I entered my very short story “The Spider Who Ate the Elephant” into the Golden Nib Contest for The Virginia Writers Club. My home group The Appalachian Authors Guild surprised me by picking it as their winning entry. Then I was even more pleasantly surprised when it took second place in fiction statewide!
I ended 2018 with one simple goal, really. I wanted to work on consistency in my writing. Getting all kinds of words in huge bursts from time to time with weeks or even months of nothing in between wasn’t working for me any more. I also knew I had to actually track my word count to see where I was and how I could improve.
Well, the totals are in for 2019. While I didn’t hit a couple of the big pie-in-the-sky goals I had in mind on 1/1/19, wow, did I ever fail toward the better!
