Jason and I will both be out and about this Saturday, October 12, for Indie Author Day!
I’ll be at the Russell County Public Library in Lebanon from 10 to 3. I’ll be doing a presentation of some kind depending on who’s there when I get started. It may be as specific as Vellum, the publishing software we use, or as general as getting yourself past various fears when you’re writing. Come on out and give me some ideas!
Jason will be at the Arts Depot in Abingdon for a kid-themed day from 10-2. Learn the Woodbooger Boogie at 10, listen to stories, play Book Bingo, and meet other members of the Appalachian Authors Guild.
We’ll both have copies of each other’s books, including our science fiction collection Near Future Forward. And if you read my Appalachian ghost story Songs in the Mountain, we’ll both have advance copies of the surprise sequel, Secrets in the Land, due out on October 15! The story revisits Beth, Mark, and Clina, and I hope it’s as much of a treat for readers as it was for me to tell another story with them. A third novella set in the same town, Walking the Ghosts, will be out on November 15, with more to come. Not bad for a book that I never though would have even one sequel as recently as July.
And these range from sweet holiday romances to moving winter holiday tales all the way to bloody holiday mysteries, so no matter your own feelings about this time of year, we’ve got you covered. I have two stories in the collection (Winter Holidays and Joyous Christmas, both set in Appalachia, with one featuring our cat Zortea), and Jason has one in Winter Holidays.
Head over to the Holiday Spectacular Kickstarter to check out the emailed stories, ebooks, and print books for the collections coming in October of 2020! You have until October 23 to get in on the fun.
There are fantastic reward levels for readers, writers, and everyone in between.
Yes, I do think you’ll find wonderful holiday gifts for the readers and writers in your life! Early shopping is always good.
