Holiday Spectacular: The Copper Valley Cocoa Conniption Competition

December 13, 2022 By Kari Kilgore

The Copper Valley Cocoa Conniption Competition cover

I’m delighted to share my second contribution to this year’s Holiday Spectacular from WMG Publishing with The Copper Valley Cocoa Conniption Competition. In case you want to celebrate along with me and everyone in the little Appalachian town of Copper Valley, December 13 is National Cocoa Day!

One important thing you’ll learn in this cozy mystery is hot cocoa isn’t the same as hot chocolate. For cocoa, you start with cocoa powder rather than melting chocolate. After that, the only limit to the flavors you create is your own imagination and the ingredients you have on hand.

Of course you want to make sure you know what’s in all the ingredients you work with. Leaving such things to chance can lead to…unexpected results.

Holiday Spectacular: Sometimes Strange Magic Casts the Best Spell

December 31, 2021 By Kari Kilgore

Strange Magic WMG cover

Welcome to the last day of 2021, and get ready for a trip back to the final hours of the last millennium!

I’m delighted to share my contribution to this year’s Holiday Spectacular from WMG Publishing with Sometimes Strange Magic Casts the Best Spell. You may remember the setting from The Magic Cat of the Hidden Springs Inn and Spa and The Inn, the Black Cat, and Two Halves of the Same Heart, both featured in past Holiday Spectaculars.

This time we visit 1999, which those of us who’ve been around long enough to remember it know was a very strange time indeed. Especially those of us who worked in the IT field.

You can read Sometimes Strange Magic Casts the Best Spell free on this site until January 3rd, with my warm wishes for a Happy New Year in 2022!

And my deepest, most sincere hope that we all experience a whole lot less strange over the next twelve months and into the future.
